Walter Van Beirendonck – Autumn Winter 2012-2013

Perhaps one of the most interesting collections of this Fashion Week season is the collection by the Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck. Beirendonck covered all of his models’ faces with masks in order to dehumanize his models, while toying with influences of S&M fetish culture. His trademark playful colors are juxtaposed with the stark creepiness and fear infused in his looks. Sometimes elegant, sometimes conservative, definitely scary, powerful, and sexual. Beirendonck’s collection is one that deserves and will garner a second look.

J.C. Penney – New logo, new prices!

J.C. Penney, or as they now refer to themselves as jcpenney, began its retail makeover today. J.C. Penney has a new logo, and a new strategy as they are trying to revitalize its reputation. Its goal is to regain popularity and become “America’s favorite store” once again. Additionally, J.C. Penney is marking down the majority of their merchandise by 40% and almost eliminating coupons and sales so that customers don’t have to wait for a promotion to land a good deal. Last year, J.C. Penney had almost 600  separate sales events, but this year they are only planning to have around 12.

What do you think of the new logo? And can J.C. Penney be America’s retail sweetheart again?

Beauty DIY: Sideswept Bangs

One of the best ways to change your overall look is to change your hair–it’s really the best part of any makeover!  You can change your hair color, but then you risk damaging your hair and having to wait for it to grow out when you get tired of it after 3 weeks (or change the color again, causing more damage) OR you can simply cut chic, yet sophisticated sideswept bangs.

God knows I’ve tried to cut my own bangs several times–#FAIL!  However, if you follow this DIY video by amazing beauty vlogger rosebud143 on how to cut your own sideswept bangs, you’ll cruise through without any hair catastrophes.

Let us know if you try it out!

Remember as a Shop My Label Shopkeeper you’ll have the opportunity to stock your shop, not only with gorgeous apparel, but also fine beauty products! Request an invite.

Would you wear this trend? Bondage Inspired Dresses

would you wear this bondage trend?

Trends come and go.  Is this one you wish never surfaced or do you think the bondage vibe gives that good ‘ol LBD a nice edgy twist?

Vanessa Hudgens, Teresa Palmer and Lily Collins mix naughty with nice, picking these LBDs topped with bold, strappy leather corsetry.

Remember that infamous S&M-esque dress Alex McCord of the Real Housewives of New York wore while getting booted out of Sonja Morgan’s house?
